Warm congratulations to László Krasznahorkai on receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature!
Twenty-four years ago, he was one of the first guests of the Landis & Gyr Foundation and spent a writing residency in Zug from October 2001 to September 2002.
It was here that he began working on «A Mountain to the North, a Lake to the South, Paths to the West, a River to the East». After his long journey to Kyoto, he came to Zug in search of «peace, silence, and seclusion» for his writing — and of «the feeling of knowing that what I do matters to a few kind people.»
Following Olga Tokarczuk, László Krasznahorkai is the second Landis & Gyr Foundation resident to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature.
We are truly delighted about the award of the Nobel Prize in Literature to this remarkable author!
